Our body develops immunity against a disease after exposure to a disease causing microbe. So, when body second time encounters the same microbe the disease will not be manifested. This happens in the case of chicken pox virus. When it causes the disease for the first time in a person, body develops immunity against it. If it enters second time in a body, antibodies are generated against the virus by the immune system of the body and it gets destroyed without manifesting the disease.

The kind of immunity is known as 
Adaptive Immunity.
