Dear Student,

It is indeed our efforts that matter more than the result sometimes because having tried a thing gives one the confidence and determination to continue with the struggle and be optimistic to make it through one day. It was these women, Zitkala-Sa and Bama, who might have failed in resisting the oppression in their childhood, but later their determination and conviction bore fruits and they successfully contributed to the betterment of the society.
Zitkala-Sa couldn't save her hair from being shingled even after struggling against the authorities, but later came out as a major figure in fighting for the rights and against the indignities towards women. Bama, too worked for eradicating untouchability from the society through her writings.
Thus, both the women continued with their conviction to serve the society, even after having failed to make a difference in their childhood.

u can explain this with reference to the 1 part of the chapter ie the cutting of my long hair where the girl tries to escape form the norm of cuting hair and hides under the bed but evntually fail as she is cought by the evil people and her hair r chopped
