zones, namely,

Northern (Punjab, Haryana and
Rajasthan),
Central (Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh)
and
Southern zone (Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and
Karnataka)

Of
these, Maharashtra is the largest and most traditional producer of
cotton
