Justify the title of the poem.
After the hanging of the king, the city-dwellers followed a bizzarre ritual to determine who would name the next ruler of the city. The next man that entered the city was made to determine who the next ruler would be. He was an idiot and only said “melon” as a response to every question. Therefore, the city crowned a melon as their king. The title of the poem puts to display the strangeness of the ruler of the city and the weird way the city got its ruler, a melon. Hence, the title is quite apt and appropriate.
