Here gandhiji ask his mates that if he would be jailed then what would they do. They replied they would go back. In response to it gandhini asks them that what about the injustice that the share croppers are facing. They would lose all hope(sharecroppers). Now his mates think that even though gandhiji is not from the village ( he is not a resident of this village, champaran and he belongs to other place) and then also he is fighting against the injustice. In such a case, being a resident of neighbouring villages it would be shameful for them to go back without supporting the sharecroppers.
