Land degredation is not good indication for future
Dear Student,
Land degradation means the lowering of the quality of land because of its overuse by excessive agricultural activities, grazing of livestock, deforestation, industrialisation, urbanisation, mining, etc. Land degradation happens when land is used for a long period without any measures to conserve or manage it.
This can have serious consequences in the present as well as future, as we have to share the land with future generations. Degradation of land would mean a decrease in the nutritional value of land and a dearth in the availability of food and other resources like clothing, as most of these come from the land. Our activities have also set in motion the natural degradation of land. If the current levels of degradation go on, it will lead to widespread catastrophes in future, including deaths of plants and animals on land. It will also lead to soil erosion which will, in turn, lead to the depletion of forests, floods, siltation, draught etc.
Regards
