I totally agree with the statement that "Lazy friends sometimes become a burden". As we have seen in Jerome K Jerome's short story, Packing, none of the three friends were actually interested in doing the tiresome work of packing. All of the three friends, in some way or other, tried to walk away from their responsibilities, which finally resulted in a disaster.
When someone lends a helping hand, we should always appreciate their assistance and feel grateful.
