length of a conductor is increased to 3 times what is the effect on

a. drift speed of electrons

b. resistance

c. resistivity

Hi Mohit!

First of all you must know the expressions for drift velocity, resistance and resistivity. Moreover, if initial length of the conductor was L, then final length will be L’ = 3L

Here, Electric field intensity, E = V/L, where, V is the potential difference
If you increased the length to 3L the drift velocity will become one-third of its initial value.

Clearly, if you change the length, resistance will be increased to three times its initial value.
Thus, resistivity remains unaffected by any change in the dimensions of the conductor.

Hope it is useful you!
Best wishes!!
