Length of dna segment is 340 angstrom and it has 20 thymine bases therefore what are the number of guanine bases? The answer is 80

distance between two base pairs is 3.4 Angstrom
therefore DNA segment of length 34 Angstrom have 10 bp
but here length is 340 Angstrom so it has 100 bp
100 bp means 200 bases are present overall, But here is said that there are 20 thymine bases so there will be same no. of adenine as that of thymine(complementary base paring) so now its done that there are 20 T,
20 A
so remaining 200-40=160 bases
so ,as the no of guanine n cytosine are same(complementary base pairing)
we will divide the left over bases by 2
that is 160/2=80
so there are 80 guanine bases and 80 cytosine bases
so the overall bases in the dna strand is 20-A,20-T.80-C,80-G
