Length of the minor arc of a circle of radius 10cm is 14cm. Find the area of the minor sector of the circle and length of the major arc?

Answer :

Given  : Length of minor arc  =  14 cm
And
Radius of the circle  =  10 cm
And
We know Arc length  = Center angle180°×πr , So

 AOB180×πr =  14  AOB180×227× 10=  14  AOB18×227=  14  AOB9×117=  14  AOB  =  88211°
And
We know area of sector of circle  = Center angle360°×πr2
So,
Area of minor sector = 88211°360°×227×10×10 = 88211 × 360×227×10×10 = 126 × 2 × 10 ×10360 = 126  ×1018 = 70   cm2           ( Ans )
And
We know  circumference of circle  = 2πr
So,
Circumference of our circle  = 2×227×10  = 4407 = 62.857 62.86   cm
So,
Length of major arc  =  62.86  -  14  = 48.86 cm                                  ( Ans )
