Sewage has many harmful effects. These include:
1-Pathogens present in the sewage water can spread diseases.
2. Stagnant water is the site of mosquito growth. This leads to malaria.
3. Accumulation of chemical nutrients in the water bodies is known as eutrophication and this degrades the water quality and causes water pollution.
4. When toxic wastes are released into rivers, they are consumed by the aquatic organisms which in turn enters food chain we can badly affect the human health.
