MAGADHA became the most powerful mahajanpada as:
1. many rivers such as son and ganga flowed through it. this was important as it helped in transport, supply of goods and to make the land fertile.
2. parts of magadh were forested this was helpful as many elephants could be captured and were trained for armies.
3. the forests also provided wood to built chariots and buildings.
4. Magadha had 2 very powerful rulers Ajatasattu and Bimbisarra, who used all possible ways to conquer other lands.
