Mam.. I could not get the ques... I m not able to see ur answer properly.. A line is such that is segment b/w the lines 5x - y + 4 = 0 and 3x + 4y - 4 = 0 is bisected at the point ( 1, 5). How we will find its equation ???Pls explain memam !! Pls post ur answer as soon as possible again.... !!!

The given lines are

5x y + 4 = 0    ...(1)

3x + 4y – 4 = 0     ...(2)

Let the required line intersects the lines (1) and (2) at (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) respectively.

(x1, y1) lies on (1).

(x2, y2) lies one (2).

Given, the segment between the lines is bisected at the point (1, 5).

Solving (3) and (4), we have

Equation of the straight line passing through (1, 5) and

Thus, the equation of required line is 107x – 3y – 92 = 0.
