Mam please say the meaning of articles?

Dear Student,

Articles are of two types: definite and indefinite. Indefinite articles include 'A' and 'An' while definite article includes 'The'.

Examples: An umbrella. (Here, we are talking about any umbrella not an umbrella in particular)

The umbrella that Rita is carrying is beautiful. (Here, we are talking about a specific umbrella, the one being carried by Rita)
