Management is not a pure science but an applied science. It is so because management deals with people and it is not possible to predict the behaviour of people with absolute accuracy. Therefore, the principles of management cannot be as hard and fast as those of physics or chemistry. A pure or exact science is based on experimentation. But experimentation is not possible in management because human beings cannot be tested in laboratories.
