Many human activities lead to increasing levels of pollution of air, water bodies and soil. Isolating these activities to specific and limited areas would not help in reducing pollution. Justify the statement giving at least five reasons.

Human activities do lead to increase in levels of different types of pollution like air , water, soil, noise etc. but isolation of these activities to certain specific and limited areas can only be done at the cost of the economic development and growth. Air, water and soil are interrelated. They cannot be limited to a certain area. If water or air is polluted in one area, it can move to other areas easily caused pollution to those areas also. Also because these natural resources and human interaction is an integral part of modernization. Even if we isolate certain human activities like industrialization which cause more pollution, both people and natural resources remain affected.

Human population has been increasing enormously over the course of time which demands more and more industrialization and urbanization. So, the human activities cannot be limited to certain specific areas for both economic and human development.

As you have already mentioned, the various types of pollution are :

  • Air Pollution
  • Water Pollution
  • Noise Pollution
  • Soil Pollution

Some ways of reducing pollution are:

  • The industrial complexes should be located quite far away from the residential areas.
  • Tall chimneys should be used.
  • Promoting eco-friendly substances.
  • Saving non-renewal fuels and using air and sun light as a energy resources in our daily life.
  • Avoiding chemical disposal in atmosphere, water and soil.
  • Reducing deforestation and planting more trees.
