mass of an object is 20 kg. what is it's weight on moon?

Dear student,

weight on moon
m=20kg
gravitational force on moon is 1.6m/s^2
W=MG
=20*1.6
=32

As we know a body's weight is the product of its mass and acceleration acting on it i.e
W=ma

given, m=20kg
here acceleration (a) would be g=10m/s²
{because on Earth a body experiences acceleration and due to gravity (g)}

so, weight of the body on Earth is
W=20×10=200kg

as we know,
weight on moon=61 weight on earth

so weight on moon=6200=33.33kg

Dear Student,

Mass = 20 kg

g = 9.8 m/s^2

W = Mg

= 20*9.8

=196 N

Weight on earth is 196 Newton ( N ).

Since , weight on moon is 1/6 weight on earth.

Weight on moon = 1/6*196

= 32.6 N

Therefore , weight on moon is 32.6 Newton ( N ).
