Mass of an object is the same all over the universe but the weight varies from place to place. Explain

Mass is a measure of amount of matter inside the body. As the amount of matter does not change, the mass does not change.

Weight is a measure of the gravitational force acting on a body. The gravitational force can change at different places (you will study this in class 9). So, weight will be different in different places.

Weight is the measure of the force of a gravitational field on an object and it differs with difference in the gravitational force. Example :The weight of a person on earth is more than his weight on the moon because the gravitational force on earth is more than that of the moon.
