meaning of coarse wool ?

Coarse wool means strong rough wool or the wool that is not smooth (silky) but rough in appearance.  

Coarse quality wool is a poor quality wool. The more coarse the wool is the less it is softer. This quality of wool is used to make outwear or rugs.
