mention any three ways of storage of radio active materials and disposal of radio active waste .
Storage of Radioactive Material
1-Storage locations P-emitters should be checked with a gamma survey meter.
2-Lead (Pb) is used as a protective material around a radioactive substance, as it is capable of absorbing the harmful radiations.
3-Containers ,in which radioactive materials are stored, should also be labeled with 'Caution Radioactive Material 'signs.
Disposal of Radioactive material
1-Radioactive waste having short half-lives may be stored and some liquid waste can be diluted until their activities drop below acceptable levels, and then disposed as normal waste.
2-Records of all subsequent disposals must be kept by the user.
3-Materials with non dischargeable levels of radioisotopes should be segregated according to isotope and form, and tagged with a Radioactive-waste label.
