Mention five importance of Pronouns in grammar

Dear student,

Here is the answer:
  1. Pronouns are the words that are used in place of nouns.
  2. Pronouns are used to identify the gender. For males we use he, him etc. For females we use her, she etc.
  3. Pronouns reduces the task of repeating someone's name.
  4. We use pronouns such as they, them, we etc., when we are talking about many people. This reduces the task of saying everybody's name. For example instead of saying Mohan, Radha, Geeta and Amar are studying, we say They are studying.
  5. We use pronoun "it" to identify non-living things, animals, birds and plants.
  6. Possessive pronouns such as mine, yours etc., show possession. For example : This pen is mine.
  7. Pronouns are also used to point out things such as this, that, these and those. These are called demonstrative pronouns.
  8. Interrogative pronouns are used to ask questions such as what, why etc.  For example: Who are you?
