- epiglottis is a flap like structure used to cover windpipe during swallowing, hence preventing food from entering trachea & choking .
- villi are small finger like projections present on inner surface of small intestine ,they increase the surface area for absorption of nutrients.
- saliva helps in lubricating the food therefore making it easy for swallowing ,it also help in break down of starch ,various drugs are also excreted by saliva ,lysosomes present in saliva can kill many microorganisms.
