Mention the limitation of the use of electrical impulses. How do the multicellular forms cope with it?
Limitations of electrical impulse:
- Nerve impulses proceed in just one direction within a neuron—from the dendrites, through the cell body and axon, to the axon terminals.
- If the stimulus that a neuron receives is too weak to trigger a nerve impulse or the stimulus much stronger than the minimum required to trigger a nerve impulse, the neuron does initiate an impulse.
- When we confronted with extreme stress, we involuntarily use our muscles beyond the limitations of their normal voluntary use.
- There is an inability to study the brain in action.
