Indirect transmission: When the transmission of pathogen to a healthyperson occurs through an intermediate resorvoir it is known as indirect transmission.It includes:a) Vector borne disease: It mainly occurs through mosquitoes , housefly andother arthropod species.Eg:Malaria is caused by anopheles mosquito , dengue by aedes mosquito etc..b) Vehicle borne disease: Pathogens of cholera , typhoid etc are transmitted bycontaminated food , water etc..These pathogenic agents are excreted through the feces and contaminate thewater sources , thus leading to spread of infections.AIDS is spread by blood (or) semen of infected individuals respectively.
