Meritnation experts what is difference plants and green plants i am confused i cannot understand

Dear Student,

When we say Green plants, we generally refer to such plants that contain chlorophyll and can perform photosynthesis; that is, they are autotrophic plants.
Whereas, There can be plants that do not perform photosynthesis, and can be non-green. For example, Pitcher plant, Cuscuta etc.
So, plants is a broad category that groups all different kinds of plants; be it green, non-green,etc.
