When placed in hypotonic solution, amount of water is more outside the cell as compared to inside, so water will move inside the cell.

When a cell is placed in hypotonic solution the water will start moving inside as the concentration of water is high outside and low inside. The water will not move out of the cell in hypotonic solution. The water will move outside the cell in hypertonic solution.
