My children this is the last lesson i shall give you.what was the impact of m.hamel words on the assembled class and why??

This sentence came as a thunderclap to the assembled class... especially Franz.....
{this was M.Hamel last lesson bcoz the German government passed the order that instead of French only German would be taught in schools of Alsace and Lorraine in France and hence this was the last lesson M. Hamel was giving.....}
Franz and other members now started realising the importance of French Language in their life and they now also realised that it was very bad of them to ignore the French lessons for the sake of other things....

I hope it helps u!!! :)

The whole was filled with utter shock and disbelieve that the language they hardly knew was going to be taken away from them . The whole class especially Franz repented for he had never taken his lessons seriously

"My children this is the last lesson I shall give you." The news that M.Hamel gave in grave and gentle tone shocked and surprised little Franz. M.Hamel told his students that the German government has passed an order that only German would be taught in the schools of Alsace and Lorraine. The new master would join the next day. These words of M.Hamel were like thunderclap. The whole class was filled with utter shock. Franz was pained to know that he would never learn French anymore. He was sorry for not learning his lessons. The order caused great dismay in the school that day.
