The narrator of 'The Accidental Tourist' described his worst experience as a traveller to be the one when he was making notes in his notebook. While doing so, he was sucking thoughtfully at the end of his pen. He started conversing with an attractive young lady sitting beside him. He thought that his twenty-minute-long, witty conversation had shed a good light on him. It was only later when he went to the washroom and saw his reflection in the mirror that he realised that the ink of the pen had bled onto his chin, mouth, teeth, gums and tongue. The awkwardness he felt at having looked so silly made that the worst experience for him.
