charge is also called as electric charge/electrostatic charge and it is denoted by the symbol “q” (mostly..).

As you know there are 2 types of charges :

+ve charge.(electrons deficiency).

-ve charge. (one extra electrons).

the basic property of charges is that :

1.”Like poles repel each other and unlike poles attract each other”.

2. “The magnitude of charge on a proton and an election is 1.6 x 10^-19 C.”

3.”All charges are conserved in nature.”(charges can neither be created nor be destroyed it can be only be transferred ).

4.Charges are additive in nature. (that is they act like scalar and can be add directly (like q(total)= q1+q2+q3).)”

5. Quantization of charges 
charges is a quantized quantity and they can be expressed as an integral multiple of the basic unit of charge e (charge of an electron ).
