name any two Recombinant proteins made using heterologous hosts

Dear student,

Heterologous expression is the expression of a gene in a host organism which does not naturally possess this gene. Recombinant DNA technology is used to insert the gene in the heterologous host. The inserted gene is expressed with or without integration.
Examples for heterologous proteins are insulin, somatostatin, growth factors etc.

Regards.
