Name some associations that worked for socio- religions reforms

Dear Student,

We may give examples of the following socio- religions reform movements :

a. 
 Raja Ram Mohan Roy was rightly regarded as the first great leader of modern India who sought to reform the country of its degenerative practices. In 1828, he founded Barhmo Samaj for the purpose of developing modern outlook in the people, to purify Hinduism and to preach belief in one god.
b. 
Swami Vivekananda in 1897, founded Ramakrishna Mission to carry humanitarian work and to bring about social reforms. He condemned the caste system and the Hindu emphasis on rituals and superstitions.
c. 
Pandita Ramabai  founded a widows’ home at Poona to provide shelter to widows
d.
Swami Dayanand Saraswati, who founded the reform association called Arya Samaj, for the purpose of reforming Hindu religion
e. Iswarchand Vidyasagar​ â€‹as a strong supporter of girls' education and also set up a school in Calcutta for girls. He got a law passed in 1856 permitting widow remarriage.
