Name the anode and the electrolyte used during electroplating of an article with..
1. Copper 2.nickel
What type of reactions are taking place at the anode.

Dear student,

Electroplating is the process of plating one metal onto another metal by the process of electrolysis.

1. Copper plating: The anode used is the copper. The cathode should be the object to be plated. The electrolyte can be copper sulphate solution. During electrolysis, at the anode, Cu2+  formed and  enters the solution. Then it gets deposited on the cathode.
2. Nickel plating: The anode should be made of nickel. The object to be plated is kept as cathode. Any nickel salt can be used as electrolyte. At the anode Ni2+ is formed and eventually get accumulated on the cathode during elecrolysis.
