Acetyl coenzyme A is the connecting link between Glycolysis and Kreb cycle.
Glycolysis which occurs in the cytoplasm and results in formation of two molecules of pyruvate, and is followed by a transition reaction or link reaction (occurs in the mitochondrial matrix) which is then followed by krebs cycle which occurs inside the mitochondria. Link reaction leads to conversion of pyruvate( 3C molecule) into acetyl CoA(2C molecule). This Acetyl CoA then further goes for krebs cycle.
