Heat absorbed by a body depends upon the following factors:

1). Body’s ability to retain heat, known as its heat capacity. More the heat capacity of a body it will absorb greater heat energy.

2) .  Color of the body, dark colors absorb more heat, black surfaces does the most while the white surfaces do the least.

3). Temperature of the body. Lesser is the temperature of the body greater will be its ability to absorb heat.
