name the glands of mucosal layer and also give the location

Dear student,
The glands of the mucosal layer are known as the gastric glands.

They are of three types:

1)  Fundic glands
2) Cardiac glands
3) Pyloric glands

These glands are found in the lamina propria layer of the mucosal membrane of the stomach. These glands help in the secretion of the mucus, pepsinogen enzyme, HCl etc.

The fundic glands also known as the oxyntic glands are found in the fundus region of the stomach. They secrete hydrochloric acid.

The cardiac glands are present in the cardia region of the stomach. They secrete mucus.

The pyloric glands are present in the antrum region of the pylorus of the stomach. They secrete the gastrin hormone.
