Name the material used for making the (a) fuse wire (b) connecting wire (c) heating element (d) filament of the bulb..??

(i) Electric fuse is a device which acts as a circuit breaker and prevents electrical appliances from being damaged. It is generally composed two main parts; an alloy wire (typically tin and copper) which is thin and has a low melting point and an insulated outer casing of ceramic, fibre glass, plastic etc.

(ii) The connecting wire is normally made of Copper which is cheap and readily available and a good conductor of electricity.

(iii) A common Electric Bulb has a Tungsten filament (surrounded by an inert gas in the glass enclosure) which is coiled and as the current passes through it it heats up and emits light.

(iv)Like the electric bulb the electric heater works on the principle of Joule's Law of Heating and it normally made up of an alloy of Nickel (80%) and Chromium (20%) called Nichrome,it has a high resistance.
