Name the river which rises from Amarkantak hills in Madhya Pradesh. Give one unique feature of this river.

Dear Student,

The Narmada river originates from Mount Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh. As it flows down the hill, it is trapped in a rift valley between the Vindhya and the Satpura mountain ranges which leads it to the west towards Gujarat, where it drains into the Gulf of Khamba.

The Narmada rises from Amarkantak Plateau near Anuppur district. It forms the traditional boundary between North India and South India and flows westwards before draining through the Gulf of Khambhat into the Arabian Sea,  west of Bharuch city of Gujarat.

Regards,
