Dear Student,

Franz loved roaming outside amidst the  beauty of nature. He spent most of his time collecting bird eggs or going sliding on the Saar. He preffered it to going to school. However, when he was informed that the incoming German government had disallowed the study of French in districts of Alsace and Lorraine, he felt sorry that he had neglected his lessons. He was now desperate to study French. So, the desire to learn French was now more impelling for him than his love for nature.

Regards,
