Nearly all of the bees a hive are worker bees

The worker bees constitute the majority of bees in a hive. That is because they perform various functions that make them indispensable to the survival of the colony.
Worker bees do a considerable amount of work, day in and day out. They work as a team. Some of their major works are:
- Cleaning the hive
- Removing dead and diseased bees
- Feeding and caring the developing larvae.
- Attending queen bee
- Collecting nectar
