How to identify a north and south pole in magnets? If they are round or oval magnets how to identify poles in them

Earth's north pole is the north end of the magnet and earth's south pole is the south end of the magnet. Take a bar magnet and hang it with a long string. Magnet will acquire the position according to earth's north and south pole and you can see the north and south pole of magnets.
In round magnets the north pole remains on one side and the south pole on the other side. Take another magnet and according to attraction and repulsion you can find the poles, since opposite poles attract each other and same poles repulse each other.
