Not every coitus leads to pregnancy and fertilisation.Give reasons

For Fertilisation to occur, the egg from ovary releases into the fallopian tube and reaches to the ampullary-ishthmic junction of the fallopian tube and wait for the sperm to come. The egg survives for only 24 hours.so,if a sperm come in contact with the egg in this duration then fertilisation will ocur and leads to pregnancy later.but this does not happen each time you can understand why.

yes not every coitus leads to pregnancy and fertilisation because during fertilisation , a sperm comes in contact with the zona pellucida layer of ovum and induces changes in the membrane that block the entry of additional sperms.thus, only one sperm can fertilise the ovum .

For fertilisation of happen, the ovum and sperm must be transported to ampullary isthmic junction at the same time... Moreover, during menstural phase, about a period of 6 months after delivery of foetus, using IUDs will not allow fertilisation
