Dear ABCD,
How are you? We all are in fine health. It has been a long time since I have seen you or dropped a mail. First I am apologizing for that. However, I have some news, which will surprise you. As you have requested me earlier to describe the Onam festival, let me tell you that I visited Kerala last month. By sheer luck I was the witness of the Onam festival.
As school vacation started Dad decided to visit Kerala. It is supposed to be the “god’s own country”. It is among the most popular spots for tourism. With its quiet seashores, green hills, mesmerizing backwaters and remarkable wildlife, it really seems a heaven. Not only that, we were there while the biggest festival of Kerala, Onam was going on. It is the festival of harvest which is celebrated for ten days. It marks the homecoming of king Mahaballi and is the commemoration of Vishnu. It is suggestive of Kerala’s agrarian past. There were festive rituals, conventional cuisine, dance and beautiful music. It was celebrated with great fanfare. I really loved staying there. When you visit India don’t miss the chance to visit Kerala.
