On page 66 question number 5 it is written that melting of wax is both physical and chemical change. If I give this example in examination will the answer be correct?

Dear Student

Melting of wax is a physical change while burning of candle is both physical and chemical change.

Melting of wax involves a change of state from solid to liquid. When the physical state of a substance changes, no new products are formed. Hence, it is a physical change.

Burning of a candle is both physical and chemical change because the melted wax can be reused so it is physical change and when candle burns it gives out carbon dioxide, unburned carbon soot, so it is chemical change.
