On page no.29 of '3 men in a boat', the question asked is,'how does the narrator compare the boat trip to the journey of life?'...what shall be the complete lucid and comprehensive answer to it?

According to the narrator, the biggest mistake that people make when going on a boat trip, is to pack up too many things and finery, making the load heavy, which in turn makes it really difficult to oar the boat. This, he says, is comparable to the journey of life, wherein a man gets too caught up in ostentation, showing off, and accumulates false friends, who really do not care about him. Hence such pretentious ways, make life stressful for him, that makes it a very difficult life to lead. Much like the extra luggage on the boat that needs to be done away with, in order for the boat to be lighter, in a similar way such pretensions too must be done away with to lead a simpler and easier life which is really pleasant, which the narrator truly believes.
