One Case Study in Bhimbetka ??
1.A world heritage site, Bhimbetka is located in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh state of India.
2.The rock shelters of Bhimbetka lies at a distance of 45km south east of Bhopal.
3.This archaeological site has more than 700 rock shelters of which 400 caves have paintings,showing the life of communities from the ancient times.
4.It displays continuous sequence of cultures of different time period.Following are the paintings exhibited in the caves:
Hunting, music, dancing, horse and elephant riders, animal fighting, honey collection and other household scenes. Different animals like Tigers, bisons, deer, wild boar, elephants, antelopes, dogs, lizards, crocodiles, etc.
Some religious and ritual symbols are also there.
