It is true that decline and end of Indus valley civilisation according to many historians was due to environmental factors. Presently too human beings have brought about irreparable damage to the environment leading to the following:

Deforestation: Deforestation rate has been increased with the increase in human population and industrialization. This has disturbed the normal cycling of water and nutrients in the environment. Also, it is a cause of global warming as carbon dioxide concentration is increasing with time.
Excessive Urbanization, industrialization has increased the pollution and has brought about dramatic changes in the climate. Phenomena's like floods, landslides, Tsunami are the result of increase in the sea water level primarily caused due to global warming, melting of glaciers.
