We will draw a grid to find the portion of each colour in the following square.



Total number of small squares in the grid  = 16
Number of small blue coloured squares     =   2
Fraction of blue shaded square                   = 216
 
                                                                      = 18

Thus, one-eighth of the square is shaded blue.

Number of green shaded squares = 1
Fraction of green shaded square  = 116
Thus, one-sixteenth of the square is shaded green.
