`People forget how fast you did a job- but they remember how well you did it'. The governor paid heavily for his lapses in security. If he had weighed the probablities of Evans' escape, he might have taken sufficient precautions. What qualities do you think will help one guard against such lapses?

Dear Student,

The governor, in the drama 'Evans tries an O-level' executes all possible vigilance strategies known to him to deter Evans from escaping the prison. However, Evans outsmarts him and manages to plan and escape successfully twice from the hands of Governor. Although the governor, had made prior arrangements to conduct a smooth examination, frisked the doubtful, followed hints to reach Evans, but he was unable to understand Evans' plan and fell prey to it.
The governor might have taken some extra precautions in dealing with a prisoner who is known to be an escapist.but he was overconfident and under-estimated Evans. He could have not let him sit for an exam when he saw the slightest possibility of a genuine interest in German by Evans. He should also have restricted Evans from keeping anything of his own in the cell at the time of exam. The invigilator shouldn't have been excused for carrying a tube, when it was such a suspicious thing. A thorough watch over the entire exam should have been kept and the slightest suspicion should have been addressed then and there. Also, the governor should not have underestimated Evans and assume his surrender to him so easily. A well planned conduct of examination, keeping in mind of all the possible things that can go wrong, should have been ensured.

Regards
