Physically challenged people do not need sympathy they need encouragement. Give reasons
The physically challenged need the support of society, said Horticulture Minister R Srinivas after inaugurating the Physically Challenged Day.
On the occasion, the minister also distributed materials and aids for the physically challenged. The programme was organised by the Department for Women and Child Welfare at the DVG Rangamantapam here on Thursday.
He said the State Government is thinking of introducing a number of programmes for the benefit of the poor and it is also thinking on the lines of taking steps to improve to the lifestyle of the physically challenged.
Komul Director Kadenahally Nagaraj was the chief guest and said that the physically challenged are an intelligent lot and they need encouragement and not sympathy, he added. Komul is ready to support any physically challenged persons who are willing to open dairies. Mr Nagaraj said that Komul would extend all help it can for the physically challenged. He said Komul is ready to open as many as dairies for the benefit of the farmers. Komul is distributing Rs 300 crore for the farmers, he said.
Taluk Panchayat former president C V Gopal called on the Anganwadi workers to utilise the government schemes meant just for them. He urged the minister to open additional 300 Anganwadi centres in the taluk.
Taluk Panchayat President Bhuvaneswaramma, Kolar Co-operative Union President Byalahally Govinda Gowda, Tahsildar M G Jagganath, Taluk Government Employees’ Association President K V Subramanyam, Women and Child Development officers Y Krishna, Lakshmidevamma, Sharadamma and others participated.
