Pl solve q15
Q.15. A pole of height 14 m casts a shadow 10 m long on the ground. At the same time a tower casts the shadow 70 m long on the ground. Find the height of the tower.

This is a direct proportion question.

The answer goes like this:
                                               Pole 1                        Pole 2
Height of pole(in meters)      14m                               x
Length of shadow(in meters)10m                            70m

                         x1/y1  =   x2y2

                       =14/10  =x/70  (then cross-multiply)
                       =10x  = 14*70
                      =   x   =  14*70/10

The pole is 98 meters high.
